My time in Panjin has flown by much faster than I expected. It’s hard to believe that it’s already coming to an end. Looking back, the first few days were definitely a bit challenging. Everything felt unfamiliar—from the language to the customs, and especially the food. I’ve always been quite a picky eater, so adjusting to new flavours and ingredients was tough at first. But slowly, I started to appreciate the variety and richness of Chinese cuisine. Now, I can genuinely say I love hotpot, and I’m glad I gave everything a chance.
One of the most rewarding parts of this experience has been getting to know the people here. I had the opportunity to interact with local students, and even interviewed some of them, which gave me a much better understanding of their perspectives and daily lives. Hosting a graduation event was also a special moment—it made me feel part of something meaningful, and I really enjoyed being involved in a way that brought everyone together.
Outside of the university, I got to explore some amazing places. Visiting the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum was a real highlight, and spending time at the beach was a peaceful escape from the busy days. All of these little moments added up to an experience I’ll never forget.
What started out as a bit of a culture shock has turned into a time of learning, connection, and growth. I’ve gained so much from this trip—not just knowledge, but memories and friendships that I’ll carry with me long after I leave Panjin.
