Around 3 weeks ago, I arrived at DLI, DUT Panjin campus as part of a short-term internship, and it’s been an incredible experience. I have had the chance to work on a variety of projects from creating practical guides for English tutors and helping design congratulatory ceremonies for excelling graduates, to interviewing volunteers and presenting pre-departure briefs to DLI students traveling to Leicester. One of main highlights of my stay at Panjin campus was the opportunity to travel to Jinbo Beach, where along with the summer school students we shared a BBQ and had some great conversations with the DLI volunteers and staff. These moments of cultural exchange made my time here especially memorable. My time at DLI has greatly deepened my understanding of international education and what it means to create connections in a different culture.
I am truly grateful for the warm welcome and support especially from the admin staff at Panjin, and to any future interns I would say one thing: To stay open minded and get involved with any activity, you will gain so much more than you expect.
