Assoc. Prof. Jiasheng Wang from DUTPJ receives "Emerging Investigator" by <Nanoscale>

Jiasheng Wang

Associate Professor Jiasheng Wang from the School of Chemical Engineering, Ocean and Life Sciences was recently rated as an "Emerging Investigator" of 2025 by Nanoscale, a journal under the Royal Society of Chemistry, for his series of breakthrough and significant achievements in the field of nanocatalysis.

Jiasheng Wang's research interest is the design, synthesis, and application of novel nanocatalytic materials. He has developed a series of catalysts, such as subnano-molybdenum oxide clusters, molybdenum-vanadium-tellurium, and vanadium-silver-cerium catalysts with excellent performance for oxidative desulfurization, isobutylene oxidation and toluene oxidation, respectively. His ultrasmall nickel-based heterojunction catalysts developed for hydrogenation reactions of carbon dioxide, fatty acids/esters, halogenated aryl nitro compounds, enaldehydes, etc., can achieve catalytic performance comparable to that of noble metals. His representative research paper: “Fluffy mesoporous Al2O3 supported Ag-In2O3 Schottky junction catalysts for selective hydrogenation of C=O of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes" has been selected into the Nanoscale 2025 Emerging Investigator themed collection. The paper mainly studies the preparation of nano-Schottky junction catalysts and their application in catalyzing the selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes, explains the principle of selectivity control, and has made important progress in the selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes.

He has published over 30 papers in internationally renowned journals such as ACS Appl Mater Interfaces, Chem Commun, and Nanoscale, and has been granted 6 patents. He have authored two books or chapters titled "Nanometal Catalysis in Organic Synthesis" (Springer, 2024) and "Copper-Based Nanomaterials in Reduction Reactions” (ACS, 2024). He also serves as a young editorial board member of the journal "Fine Chemicals", and as a reviewer for internationally renowned journals such as Appl Catal B Environ, New J Chem, etc.

Nanoscale is an international journal with high influence in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology research. The "Emerging Investigator " honor is awarded to the outstanding young scientists who have achieved significant and innovative research results in the field of nanotechnology. It aims to recognize their achievements in nanoscience and technology that are expected to influence the future direction of nanotechnology research.
